Google Analytics on your Mobile Phone

With recent launch of the Google Analytics Data Export API, Google Analytics data is starting to show up in some new places. One of the most exciting places is on your mobile phone.
In the past it was challenging to keep up with your performance data while on the go. Using the new API, a number of developers have created mobile solutions to tackle this challenge. Note, it still takes our system some time to process your data, so if you're checking today's data, proceed with caution.
For the Android OS:
Check out Mobile GA from Actual Metrics.
Mobile GA's date range comparisons
This app is great since it allows me to quickly identify what metrics are changing on my site.
I reached out to Mike and Kirk from Actual Metrics to get a sense of how difficult this application was to build. "The GA API was very easy to use, Mike mentioned, "it is extremely flexible and allows us to get the data we want. What may require multiple calls in other product APIs can be done with just one with the GA API, allowing for higher product performance. "
For the iPhone:

Note, these apps were developed by third parties, so if you encounter any bugs or issues, you should reach out to those developers directly.
That's it! Do you have a cool app you want to share? Post a comment and let us know!

I'd like very much to try Mobile GA from Actual Metrics, but it seems my telephone operator (TIM, in Italy) is blocking some apps from the Market, and guess what? GA app is one of them...
So Google reccomends me an app for a Google OS on a HTC phone I own, but my operator denies me.

I haven't heard of anything for Win Mo phones as of yet. I'm sure there will be some apps coming down the road now that there is a decent API in place.

Hi,
This is a great development. Finally able to review reports when you actually have time to review them!
I am just looking for a solution for the Blackberry. Any help is appreciated!

Been using Analytics App for sometime now. I like it a lot, but I wish they would update the app more often to offer more reports (event tracking specifically).

Hi, when we're working with a client's data - how can we be assured that the data accessed by a third party app is not being mined, or that our login details are safe? Is there a best practice related to using the Google Analytics API and third party applications, especially if you are managing the GA account on behalf of somebody else - could a situation occur where the confidentiality of the data is compromised? Does a login without admin rights offer some protection? Some guidance would be much appreciated! Thanks, Phil

I would LOVE a generic mobile version of Google Apps that I can access from my BlackBerry Storm.

Thanks for the question on client data security with third party apps and the API.
As a user, you should take the same precautions you use whenever you share your username/password with any 3rd party application. Google does provide multiple ways for developers to offer secure authentication and data transmission, but ultimately developers can forge their application to look anyway they want, i.e. without ever actually using Google in the first place.
There are two ways to authenticate with Google services, including Google Analytics.
1) ClientLogin: For client applications, you supply your user name and password in their application. This is the same as any other place where you provide your credentials. Only do so, where you are safe.
2) Oauth/authsub: For web based applications, the authentication mechanism redirects you to Google where you can grant a 3rd party a token to access data on your behalf. In this scenario, the 3rd party never has access to your credentials, only a token. Additionally you can revoke this token from the 3rd party at any time.
Besides these two mechanisms there is no way to tell what a 3rd party is doing with your data. So you might want to learn a little about the company before trying the application.
